Stefan Dombrowski,

October meeting minutes motion to accept by Stefan and seconded by Cirian.

  • Welcome—Frank Bauer, KA3HDO
    • Welcome. Thanks for being here and congratulations on 25 years of continuous operation. We have operated with all 73 crew expeditions. We have done 1744 contacts and touched over 1 million youth.

  • Face to face status — Oliver Amend
    • Targeting April to Mid-Autumn 2026
    • Location – TBD (focusing on European region. Preference should be accessible for Sergey, like UK.) Calendar shown with public holidays and major conferences or exhibitions.
Request to participants to identify other “NO GO” events to be respected in the detailed meeting week scheduling.
  • Ciaran – One option is Central London, British Interplanetary society but limited capacity. Accommodations nearby for housing are limited. Ideal time would be May/June. Heathrow and Gatwick airports would serve that area. Alternatively, Guildford has a couple of venues. Surrey Satellite Technologies but limited for 20 attendees. University of Surrey possible but only during school holiday periods. A hotel near the University could host the conference and also be the location for accommodations. Heathrow is preferred airport for this location. A few other locations still being reviewed. RSGB is keen to support the meeting.

  • 25th Anniversary Planning—Frank Bauer
    • Celebration would run from now until Nov. 2026.
    • 25th Anniversary article on ARISS.org website
    • Each region is requested to compile the most impactful activities and write 2-4 paragraph description. To be sent to ARISS officers
    • Developed a 3 page list of achievements. Comments requested NLT Nov 28th to ARISS officers
    • Plan to develop 1 page graphic of accomplishments
    • Webinar planned around Dec 21 to commemorate 25th anniversary of first school contact.
    • SSTV end of year event (TBD).
    • Future efforts? (see slide for ideas).

  • SSTV status—Will Marchant, Sergey Samburov
    • Event started Nov 12. Planned for a week. Worked for a few hours.
    • Hoping for Holiday greeting at the end of the year and/or SuitSat anniversary in Feb 2026 if hardware can be operational.
    • Sergey – Cycle systems and check connectors but found no solution. Voice contact worked using D710E. Still troubleshooting D710GA. Symptom is that radio shuts down about 4 seconds after PTT depressed.

  • AOB  (Any Other Business)
    • Russia – NTR (Nothing to Report)
    • Europe – Aware of the issue with Azerbaijan contact. Ops team working on it.
    • Japan – Satoshi is key person for ARISS but Shizou cannot contact him but still trying.
    • Canada – not present
    • USA - NTR
    • Next meeting December 16 at 1200 UTC
